Youth evenings and chess courses 50

Most chess teaching in the region happens at the clubs, in youth training that comes before the adults’ evening. In Mörlenbach it starts on Fridays at a quarter to six, in Viernheim, Sandhausen and Baiertal at six, in Hockenheim at half past five, and in Ketsch at six outside the school holidays; Neckarhausen and Altlußheim train on Tuesday afternoons and Ladenburg on Monday afternoons. For young players who want a tournament, the Ketscher Jugendopen is open to them alone.

Beside the clubs, the Hector Children’s Academy runs chess courses for primary pupils nominated by their schools: at the Südstadtschule in Schwetzingen on Thursdays, the Friedrich-Grundschule in Weinheim on Tuesdays, the Schillerschule in Walldorf on Wednesdays and the Martin-von-Adelsheim-Schule in Adelsheim on Fridays. Anyone who wants to learn at any age can join the Monday meeting at the multi-generation house in Frankenthal.
